Plant layout design
Greenfield and brownfield layouts for process facilities — material flow, equipment placement and operator routing planned for the realities of the site.
- Block & detailed layouts
- Material flow studies
- Site & footprint planning
Freelance planning engineer specializing in plant engineering, layout design, CAD concepts, and project management for the process industry.

I work as a single point of contact across the technical scope of a manufacturing project. No layers, no hand-offs — the same engineer who scoped the brief is the one who signs off the FAT.
Greenfield and brownfield layouts for process facilities — material flow, equipment placement and operator routing planned for the realities of the site.
Concept studies for seed, grain, beverage and process plants. Equipment selection, throughput sizing and feasibility work that survives detailed design.
CAD design of conveyors, centrifuge installations and supporting steel structures. Clear drawings, clean tolerances and documentation suppliers can actually build from.
Owner-side planning and coordination — scope definition, supplier interfaces, schedule control and on-site follow-up through commissioning.

Concept and detailed layout for a seed cleaning and treatment facility. Material flow, equipment placement and steel structure interfaces coordinated end-to-end.

Conceptual engineering for a beverage processing line — equipment selection, footprint study and routing of product, utilities and packaging conveyors.

Mechanical design and installation engineering for an industrial centrifuge system, including supporting steelwork, access platforms and integration with upstream process equipment.

CAD design of a multi-level conveyor route with supporting steel structure. Drawings, parts lists and supplier-ready documentation for fabrication and site erection.
Every engagement runs through the same disciplined sequence. Each gate has a written deliverable — so you can stop, redirect, or accelerate before the next phase begins.
On-site walkthrough, data capture, constraint mapping.
Two to three options with capex, opex and risk modelled.
CAD, BOMs, control philosophy, factory acceptance criteria.
Tender, vendor selection, build supervision, FAT.
On-site install, ramp-up, operator training, SAT sign-off.

I trained as a mechanical engineer and have spent my career in process industry engineering — planning seed, grain, beverage and centrifuge installations, designing conveyors and steel structures, and seeing concepts through to working plants.
The work I take on is hands-on: CAD opens every morning, site visits most weeks, and a strong preference for projects where the technical detail decides whether the line runs or not.
Send a one-paragraph brief. Initial response within two working days, no-obligation feasibility call within the week.
